Find Your Escape · pins, layers & coves
Tap Add pin and choose a type (cove, depth, temperature, hazard, or custom). Tap a pin for info. My pins are stored on this phone (localStorage) and stay until you delete them — reload and browser restart keep them. My map only keeps the official catalog plus your pins (this site has no live community feed; the React app can hide shared pins the same way). Use Export / Import my pins to move pins to another phone. Cross-device sign-in sync is not on this Pages build. Official map pins can be removed from your map (hidden on this phone only — restore via the quiet Restore hidden control above when needed). Streets is the default lake map (green land / blue water). Satellite and Topo are alternatives. Before the dam and Geology are optional stack overlays — each has its own opacity slider. County lines (U.S. Census Bureau TIGERweb) draw county borders with names over any basemap; My location / the target button shows you and can follow you (iPhone only tracks while the screen is on and the page is open). With Geology on, tap the map for unit name, age, and material (USGS National Geologic Map). Before the lake · 1956 is a second, separate overlay: the USGS 1:250,000 topographic map dated 1956 (Russellville and Memphis sheets), made before Greers Ferry Dam was started in 1959, so the Little Red River, Stark, Higden, Shiloh, Miller and old Heber Springs show as they were. It has its own opacity slider. Before the dam uses the USGS historic topographic maps (via Esri) — Stark prints in red on the map itself. Day-use fees often apply at Corps parks. Pets are not allowed in day-use swim areas.
